A disturbing incident unfolded in Leeds, England, on November 8, 2023, as three masked teenagers engaged in a violent confrontation, brandishing 24-inch machetes in broad daylight. The chaotic scene was recorded by a motorist who witnessed the brawl around 14:30 local time.

The video shows one assailant in black repeatedly striking another with the machete, leading to a frenzied struggle involving a third teenager. As the skirmish progressed, the three individuals could be seen darting around the street, with two of them rushing towards an electric bike parked on Kirkstall Hill. The footage captures the intensity of the clash, culminating in one teenager attacking another, who was later observed on the ground, reportedly injured.

Nigel Himsworth, a 52-year-old father from South Yorkshire, was returning from a soccer match with his son when he encountered the alarming scene. “We were coming down the slip road and there were cars stopped in front of us,” Himsworth recounted, noting that he rolled down his window to see the teenagers engaged in combat. “It made me feel sick to the bone; it was brutal,” he added.

Witnesses described the size of the weapons as shocking, with Himsworth stating, “I’ve never seen a weapon so big in my life; they were huge.” Fortunately, it seems that no one sustained life-threatening injuries, but Himsworth emphasized that such violence should not occur in public during daylight hours.

The confrontation reportedly lasted for approximately ten minutes before the assailants fled the scene on electric bikes. Police arrived shortly after the suspects had left. An 18-year-old male was subsequently arrested, suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries during the altercation. He has been charged with threatening a person with a blade in a public space and is expected to appear in court at a later date.

The West Yorkshire Police Department has not yet provided further comments regarding the incident. The alarming nature of this confrontation raises concerns about youth violence and public safety in the area.
