Wilmington Police have arrested two men following a burglary incident on Maryland Avenue, where a victim was allegedly threatened with a knife. The incident occurred on August 15, 2025, at approximately 22:36 when officers responded to reports of a burglary in the 800 block of Maryland Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers identified the suspects as 27-year-old Elijah Berry and 26-year-old Nas’sur Skinner. Investigators report that Berry was found in possession of a knife and allegedly threatened the victim during the commission of the crime. Property stolen from the residence was recovered and returned to the victim.

Charges and Legal Proceedings

Elijah Berry faces multiple charges, including possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, first-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy, theft under $1,500, terroristic threatening, and criminal mischief under $1,000. After being arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20, he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a secured bail of $29,500.

In contrast, Skinner has been charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy, and theft under $1,500. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on an unsecured bail of $7,000.

Authorities have stated that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding safety and crime in the Wilmington area.
