The FilmLight Colour Awards announced their 2025 winners during a special ceremony at the EnergaCamerimage festival in Poland. The event was led by jury president Bradford Young, with acclaimed director Park Chan-wook sharing his thoughts via video message. The awards recognized outstanding achievements in color grading across various film and television categories.
Máté Ternyik secured the top theatrical prize for his work on The Brutalist, which stood out among a competitive field that featured notable projects such as Mickey 17, graded by Damien Vandercruyssen, and Nosferatu, graded by Adam Glasman. Other contenders included works by Kostas Theodosiou on Sinners and Gareth Spensley on The Phoenician Scheme.
In the episodic category, Peter Doyle won for his exceptional grading on Disclaimer, a thriller directed by Alfonso Cuaron for AppleTV. This section also showcased the talents of colorists such as Jean-Clement Soret for Andor and Tom Poole for Severance, highlighting the industry’s growing emphasis on visual storytelling.
Celebrating Diverse Talent Across Categories
The awards also honored talents in the music video and commercial sectors. Dante Pasquinelli took home the music video prize for Bad Bunny’s “NUEVAYoL,” beating out nominees like Valerio Liberatore and Jake White. In the commercial category, Franziska Heinemann won for her work on Bluff Bounce, titled “Prologue.”
Other winners included Connor Bailey for Good Shot in the Spotlight category and Marina Starke, who was recognized for her work on Converse x Daily Paper with “Homecoming,” clinching the Emerging Talent award.
