Delaware State Police are currently investigating a motorcycle crash in Wilmington that resulted in the death of a 21-year-old rider, identified as Zack Napolitano. The incident occurred on August 10, 2025, at approximately 16:30, when Napolitano was operating a Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle traveling northbound on Barley Mill Road. As he approached the off-ramp leading eastbound to Kennett Pike, he failed to navigate a curve, colliding with a guardrail.

The impact of the crash ejected Napolitano from the motorcycle. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Tragically, authorities confirmed that he succumbed to those injuries on August 24, 2025.

Following the crash, the roadway was closed for about three hours while the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted a thorough investigation and cleared the site.
