world-s-largest-illegal-sports-streaming-network-shut-down

BREAKING: The notorious illegal sports streaming network Streameast has been shut down following an astonishing 1.6 billion visits in the past year, confirmed by the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) on Wednesday. This monumental action, in collaboration with Egyptian authorities, marks a significant victory against digital piracy.

Streameast was the largest illicit live sports streaming platform globally, operating 80 associated domains. In a statement, ACE chairman Charles Rivkin proclaimed, “Today, ACE scored a resounding victory in its fight to detect, deter, and dismantle criminal perpetrators of digital piracy.” Rivkin, who also leads the Motion Picture Association, emphasized the impact of this shutdown for sports leagues, entertainment companies, and fans worldwide.

The platform provided unauthorized access to major soccer leagues across Europe, as well as American sports including the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. The surge in soccer piracy has become a pressing issue, as leagues increasingly sell their matches through expensive pay-per-view and streaming services, often requiring fans to juggle multiple subscriptions.

“Dismantling Streameast is a major victory for everyone who invests in and relies on the live sports ecosystem,” stated Ed McCarthy, COO of the DAZN streaming group. He noted that this criminal operation was undermining the sports industry and putting fans at risk. McCarthy praised the collaborative efforts of ACE and Egyptian authorities for this decisive action.

The traffic to Streameast’s various domains primarily originated from the United States, Canada, Britain, Philippines, and Germany. As part of the shutdown, all Streameast sites now redirect users to the ACE “Watch Legally” page, encouraging legal consumption of sports content.

This breakthrough comes at a critical time when the sports streaming landscape is rapidly evolving, and the demand for legitimate access to live events is higher than ever. Fans and stakeholders in the sports industry are urged to stay informed about ongoing efforts to combat piracy and protect their interests.

As developments unfold, this action serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting legal avenues for sports consumption. Keep an eye on updates regarding further measures being taken against piracy in the digital landscape.
