UPDATE: The Washington Wizards have just unveiled their highly anticipated City Edition uniforms, set to debut on November 16, 2025, against the Brooklyn Nets. The new jerseys feature a striking black stripe down the center, complemented by a white stripe above the name “Washington.” These elements are inspired by the Wizards’ 2021 “mixtape” City Edition look, creating a modern twist on a classic design. The bold black-and-gold aesthetic has been a long-standing request from fans, as confirmed by Rebecca Winn, the Wizards’ senior vice president of marketing.
“When Nike directed us to ‘remix’ a former City Edition, we immediately thought of the classic Wizards uniform first worn in 2006,” Winn stated in an official news release. The design is not just visually appealing; it also includes significant details. Inside the “Washington” across the chest is a silhouette of the Washington Monument, while the belt buckle showcases a revamped Wizards logo.
Additionally, the uniform features a white D.C. hand logo outlined in gold on the right side of the shorts, alongside a “DMV” insignia that references the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia area, a first for a D.C. sports team. This uniform will see action 29 times during the upcoming 2025-26 season, enhancing the team’s identity and connection to the local community.
