us-government-auctions-325m-superyacht-of-russian-oligarch-now

BREAKING: The US government has announced the auction of the luxurious superyacht Amadea, previously owned by Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov. Bidding starts on September 10, 2023, and this stunning $325 million yacht could be yours!

Seized in 2022 off the coast of Fiji, the 348-foot megayacht is now being offered in a sealed bid auction at its berth in San Diego, California. Interested buyers are required to place a deposit of 10 million euros (approximately $11.6 million) to enter the bidding war.

This impressive vessel, built in 2017 by renowned shipbuilder Lürssen, can host up to 16 guests across 8 staterooms and is staffed by a crew of 36 members. The yacht boasts extravagant amenities including a gym, a 32-foot swimming pool, an outdoor jacuzzi, a private cinema, and a helipad.

“This is perhaps the most spectacular, exacting, and beautiful ship any of us will ever see,” said Bob Toney, chairman of National Maritime Services, in a recent press release. “An opportunity like this for discerning owners is exceedingly rare — maybe once in a lifetime.”

Potential buyers can expect a “substantial discount on the original price of the yacht,” according to a representative from Fraser Yachts, the luxury yacht broker managing the sale. The Amadea remains “virtually untouched” since its seizure, making this auction even more enticing.

The seizure of the Amadea was part of a broader effort by US authorities to target assets linked to corrupt Russian oligarchs. In a statement from May 2022, then-US Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco emphasized the government’s commitment to holding accountable those who use “dirty money.” She warned, “This yacht seizure should tell every corrupt Russian oligarch that they cannot hide — not even in the remotest part of the world.”

The auction not only represents a chance for bidders to acquire an extraordinary asset but also sends a strong message about the ongoing efforts to combat financial misconduct globally.

As auction day approaches, don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to own a piece of luxury history. What happens next? Keep an eye on the developments leading up to the auction as bidders prepare to stake their claims on the Amadea.
