UPDATE: Major lane closures are set to impact U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove next week, as PennDOT begins urgent roadway reconstruction. Motorists should prepare for significant travel disruptions from January 12 to January 16, 2025, as lane closures will be implemented during critical hours.
From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on westbound U.S. 422, drivers will encounter closures between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Hanover Street interchanges. Additionally, eastbound lanes will be affected from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with closures occurring between the Hanover Street and Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) interchanges.
Motorists are strongly advised to allow extra travel time, as backups and delays are expected during these hours. All activities are contingent upon weather conditions, which may further impact travel.
This construction is part of PennDOT’s extensive $83.6 million project aimed at reconstructing and enhancing approximately 2.1 miles of expressway, including the replacement of bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township.
