URGENT UPDATE: A 35-year-old American tourist was fatally stabbed early Wednesday morning in a shocking robbery attempt in Cascais, Portugal. The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. as the victim was returning to his hotel from a nearby nightclub.

According to police reports, the victim was confronted by three men who attempted to touch his hat. When he asked them to stop, they violently punched him, prompting him to flee and call for help from a friend at the TAJ nightclub. As the friend arrived on Rua Afonso Sanches, tensions escalated into a violent confrontation.
