UPDATE: Two remarkable sisters from Lake County, Pearle and Gigi Albert, have just been accepted into the prestigious high-IQ organization American Mensa after achieving astonishing IQ scores. This development is not just an academic milestone but also a testament to their unique abilities at such young ages.

The sisters, aged 5 and 9, have captured the attention of their community. While their IQ scores are exceptional, they remain quintessential children, enjoying playtime with their pet bunny Luna, watching cartoons, and spending time with friends. Their parents, Mark and Tara Albert, are committed to ensuring that their daughters grow up as “regular kids” despite their extraordinary talents.

The journey to Mensa membership began with Pearle, whose early development was remarkable. “She excelled in everything,” Tara shared, noting Pearle’s advanced skills in reading and math. After discovering Pearle’s impressive IQ of 140, which places her in the 99th percentile, Gigi also sought to know her score and achieved similar results. The family recently received Pearle’s Mensa membership card and are awaiting Gigi’s.

Though they are now members of a high-IQ society, the Alberts prioritize their daughters’ happiness and social development. They have chosen to keep Pearle in a private school and Gigi in public school, believing that maintaining a balance between academics and childhood experiences is crucial. “We want them to grow up like regular kids,” Tara emphasized.

While experts suggested enrolling the sisters in a gifted school, the Alberts have opted for a different path. They focus on keeping the girls academically engaged with various after-school activities, including violin, piano, martial arts, and horseback riding. “School is not enough for them,” Tara acknowledged, reinforcing their commitment to diverse learning experiences.

Despite their high intelligence, social integration has not posed a challenge. Pearle has become a leader in her class, with her peers naturally gravitating towards her. She and Gigi have a rich social life, defying stereotypes of gifted children. “They are active, friendly, and social,” Mark noted, expressing surprise at how the girls defy conventional expectations of high-IQ children.

The sisters also share common interests with their peers, enjoying popular entertainment like “KPop Demon Hunters” and eagerly anticipating the release of the new “Zootopia” movie. Yet, their aspirations also reflect their exceptional intellect, as Gigi has already begun expressing interest in attending an Ivy League university.

The Alberts’ story is a powerful reminder of the importance of nurturing both intelligence and emotional well-being in gifted children. As they navigate this unique path, their focus remains on ensuring that Pearle and Gigi enjoy their childhood while pursuing their academic passions.

With their Mensa membership, the Alberts are now poised to connect with other families of gifted children, seeking resources and communities that align with their values. As they embark on this new chapter, the community watches with admiration and curiosity, eager to see how these two exceptional sisters will continue to shine.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Albert sisters and their journey as they balance brilliance with the joys of childhood.
