mariners-miller-robles-set-to-make-urgent-returns-from-injuries

UPDATE: Major League Baseball fans, brace yourselves! The Seattle Mariners are on the brink of reinforcements as starting pitcher Bryce Miller and outfielder Victor Robles inch closer to returning from their respective injuries. General Manager Justin Hollander provided a crucial update just moments ago ahead of the Mariners’ critical series opener against the Chicago White Sox.

Bryce Miller, who has struggled with right elbow inflammation, is set to make his second rehab start this Thursday with Triple-A Tacoma. Hollander indicated that while Miller is eager to return, he likely needs one more start before rejoining the big league squad. “No matter how much Bryce begs for that to be the last one,” Hollander stated. “Stuff looked top of the scale. He told me that was the best he’s felt, including Day 1 of spring training.”

Meanwhile, Victor Robles has been sidelined since April after dislocating his left shoulder during a play that left him requiring a cart off the field. Hollander confirmed that Robles is expected to kick off his rehab assignment on August 12. This season, Robles has posted a batting average of .273 with three RBIs across 44 at-bats. “The first couple of days will be DH days, mixed in outfield days,” Hollander explained, highlighting a strategy to replicate the intensity of spring training.

The Mariners are also looking at additional reinforcements as infielder Ryan Bliss aims for a rehab assignment in September. Utilityman Luke Raley, who was placed on the 10-day IL on July 27, began hitting progression on Tuesday and could return as early as this weekend against Tampa Bay.

In a further development, reliever Trent Thornton underwent successful surgery for an Achilles injury and is expected to face a recovery timeline of six to eight months. This situation underscores the urgency for the Mariners as they navigate the remainder of the season.

With the MLB season heating up, the return of these key players could significantly impact the Mariners’ push for postseason contention. Fans are eagerly awaiting updates as the team prepares for a challenging series against the White Sox. Stay tuned for more breaking news!
