He told me that was the best he’s felt, including Day 1 of spring training.”

Hollander confirmed that Robles is expected to kick off his rehab assignment on August 12. This season, Robles has posted a batting average of .273 with three RBIs across 44 at-bats. “The first couple of days will be DH days, mixed in outfield days,” Hollander explained, highlighting a strategy to replicate the intensity of spring training.
The Mariners are also looking at additional reinforcements as infielder Ryan Bliss aims for a rehab assignment in September. Utilityman Luke Raley, who was placed on the 10-day IL on July 27, began hitting progression on Tuesday and could return as early as this weekend against Tampa Bay.
