Linda, born on October 8, 1944, in Charles City, was a beacon of love and warmth. She met her husband, Duane Hansen, in 1961 at a local skating rink, and their marriage in 1963 blossomed into a profound partnership that lasted over six decades. They welcomed three children: James Anthony Hansen, Gary Duane Hansen—whose memory remains alive despite his passing—and Teresa Ann Hansen. Each child held a special place in Linda’s heart, creating a legacy of love that will endure through her family.
Known for her selflessness and kindness, Linda touched the lives of many, whether through her nurturing spirit or the countless meals she prepared. Summers were filled with laughter and family gatherings, while holidays shone brightly under her care. Her passion for the Green Bay Packers turned game days into joyous celebrations, further solidifying her role as the heart of the family.
Linda’s strong Catholic faith guided her life, and her devotion to prayer and trust in God resonated with everyone around her. She was a model of grace, embodying the values she instilled in her children and grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband, Duane, and their two children, Jim (Lori) Hansen and Teresa (Dennie) VanHauen, along with four granddaughters: Tessa Weber, Jessica Mahnesmith-Rippentrop, Desirae Reddel, and Shantel Maloy, as well as ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob Young, her son Gary, and several in-laws.
