URGENT UPDATE: The Los Angeles Kings clinched a 4-2 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Monday night, with Joel Armia leading the charge by scoring two crucial goals. This win marks the Kings’ third victory in their last five games, solidifying their momentum as the NHL season progresses.

The game unfolded in Salt Lake City, where the Kings struck first at 7:50 of the first period. Adrian Kempe opened the scoring, netting his 10th goal of the season with a slick backhander after receiving a pass from Kevin Fiala. Just minutes later, Armia extended the lead to 2-0 at 10:08 with a powerful shot from the circle, set up by another assist from Fiala.

The Mammoth fought back early in the second period; Dylan Guenther fired a one-timer from the high slot, converting a power play pass from Clayton Keller just 34 seconds in, closing the gap to 2-1. However, the Kings were quick to respond, with Anze Kopitar restoring the two-goal cushion at 3:27 of the third period, scoring on a rebound.

With 7:47 remaining in the game, Keller managed to pull the Mammoth back within one goal, scoring off a setup from Guenther. Despite the pressure, Armia sealed the victory for the Kings with an empty-netter at 1:38 left on the clock.

Strong defensive play from Kings’ goaltender Darcу Kuemper, who stopped 19 shots, proved critical in maintaining their lead. Meanwhile, Mammoth goalie Karel Vejmelka faced a heavier workload, making 23 saves.

As the Kings look ahead, they prepare to face the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday night, while the Mammoth will host the Florida Panthers on the same day. The results of these upcoming games could have significant implications for both teams as they navigate the season.
