BREAKING: In a shocking incident, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents forcibly entered a family’s home in Gresham, Oregon, while a mother was holding her 3-month-old baby. Footage of the dramatic raid, which occurred on Wednesday evening, has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and fear.
Newly released video shows agents kicking down a bedroom door, guns drawn, as they shouted, “Police, don’t move, hands up.” The family was left terrified, with the baby’s grandmother, Gloria Bautista, describing the mother as “so traumatized” that she is constantly shaking with fear. “This is unfair; they scared my baby,” said Mari Magana, the mother, in a Facebook post alongside the disturbing footage.
The raid targeted two male relatives in the home, who were detained by ICE agents. In a shocking moment captured on video, an agent appeared to pull one of the men backward by his hair. The pair have since been transferred to a detention center in nearby Tacoma, Washington.
A senior official from the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that the operation aimed to apprehend a “previously removed violent criminal illegal alien from Mexico” who remains at large. “ICE officers attempted to pull this criminal illegal alien over in a vehicle stop,” the official stated. “He attempted to evade arrest and rammed into a United States Postal Service vehicle before fleeing on foot into an apartment.” Despite the aggressive tactics, the official assured that “no injuries were sustained” during the operation.
Witnesses, including Magana, reported that agents had been attempting to force entry into the property for several hours before the dramatic door-kicking incident. An agent was heard questioning Magana, “Why don’t you put the phone down, we’re in your house right now.”
The family claims that the detained men are in the U.S. legally, raising questions about ICE’s tactics in this high-stakes operation. A GoFundMe campaign initiated by Ashley Valdez, a cousin of Magana, seeks to cover legal fees, with Valdez stating, “They are hard-working people, they don’t deserve this.” The campaign has been verified as legitimate.
This incident comes amid heightened tensions in Portland, where the Trump administration has attempted to deploy the National Guard in response to ongoing protests and crime concerns. The city has become a battleground for clashes between anti-immigration demonstrators and federal agents.
As the situation develops, community members are rallying in support of the affected family, highlighting the emotional toll of such aggressive law enforcement actions. Authorities are urged to reconsider their methods to ensure the safety and well-being of innocent families caught in the crossfire.
