BREAKING: A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent fired three shots at a vehicle in Black Forest, Colorado, just after 10 AM today, during a detention operation. Officers reported that the suspects attempted to drive their vehicle directly at them, prompting the agent’s response to protect the team on the scene.

Authorities confirm that the vehicle was abandoned shortly after the incident, and a large-scale manhunt is currently underway for the two suspects who fled the scene. No injuries have been reported. A significant law enforcement presence, including armored vehicles, helicopters, and drones, was deployed in the area, with ongoing searches around Burgess Road and the Green Tree intersection.

Witnesses reported seeing law enforcement towing an abandoned truck from a ditch, although it remains unclear if this vehicle was involved in the shooting. As a precaution, law enforcement had closed off Burgess Road for approximately five hours while they conducted their search for the fugitives.

By early evening, officials lifted a shelter-in-place order that had been issued earlier in the day, but it is still uncertain if any arrests have been made. Pro-immigrant activists gathered near the law enforcement staging area, seeking information about the incident. Genevieve Richard from the Colorado Springs Alliance Against Racism and Political Repression expressed skepticism about any statements from ICE, saying, “We know that ICE is going to put up their own presentation on this, and the feds are going to put up their own presentation on this.”

ICE officials stated that agents are increasingly facing assaults, attributing this rise to “lies and violent rhetoric” prevalent in public discourse. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspects to come forward.
