URGENT UPDATE: The Great Bend Public Library is revving up its programming schedule with a series of engaging events just announced for January! Residents are encouraged to join in on the fun starting today, January 8, with activities designed to entertain and inspire.

This evening, Adult Craft Night kicks off at 6 p.m., featuring a unique mirror crafting session using the trending Decoden cream. This innovative material resembles whipped cream and allows participants to create personalized mirrors adorned with charms and decorative items.

Tomorrow, January 9, teens in grades 6-12 can dive into the action during Casual Game Friday at 3:45 p.m., where they will take on the iconic Star Fox 64.

Mark your calendars for January 12, as the library brings back the beloved BINGO night at 6 p.m.. This cozy indoor gathering promises fun and fabulous prizes, offering a warm escape from the winter chill.

Next week, the library also hosts Tech Tuesday at 11 a.m. on January 16. Bring your smart device-related questions for expert advice and assistance. Later that evening, join the January Writing Club at 5:30 p.m. to reflect on your favorite writing pieces from 2025.

On January 15, the library’s Teen Manga & Anime Club will gather at 5:30 p.m. for a relaxed evening featuring popcorn and a captivating film from the acclaimed Studio Ghibli. Attendees will explore a magical adventure directed by Hayao Miyazaki, following young Mahito on a journey through a mysterious tower.

In addition, the library is launching a Winter Reading Bingo program. Participants can pick up bingo sheets to complete cozy reading objectives by January 31 for a chance to win prizes in categories for children, teens, and adults.
