gonzaga-s-mark-few-hits-milestone-with-750th-win-against-north-florida

UPDATE: In a stunning display of dominance, No. 11 Gonzaga crushed North Florida 109-58 on December 3, 2023, marking Mark Few’s historic 750th career victory. This significant milestone makes Few the second-fastest coach to reach 750 wins, achieving this feat in just 904 games.

Few now trails only Kentucky’s legendary coach Adolph Rupp, who accomplished the same in 902 games. In his 27th season at Gonzaga, Few has consistently led the team to NCAA Tournament appearances, reinforcing his reputation as one of college basketball’s elite coaches.

Gonzaga’s offensive onslaught was led by Braden Huff, who scored 24 points, while Tyon Grant-Foster contributed 19 points and Davis Fogle added 15 points. The Bulldogs shot an impressive 61% from the field, completely overpowering the Ospreys, who could only manage 33% shooting.

The Bulldogs displayed their rebounding prowess as well, dominating the boards with a 48-25 advantage. Gonzaga’s ability to build momentum was evident when they ignited a devastating 20-0 run after leading 31-22 midway through the first half. This surge left North Florida scoreless for over six minutes, allowing the Bulldogs to expand their lead to 51-22.

“We executed our game plan flawlessly,” Few commented after the game. “The guys really stepped up, especially after a tough win against Kentucky.”

Despite their struggles, North Florida’s Kamrin Oriol managed to break the drought with a couple of late three-pointers, but the Ospreys trailed 53-28 at halftime, having committed ten turnovers and failing to find their rhythm.

With this decisive victory, Gonzaga improves to 9-1 for the season, showcasing their resilience and strength as they prepare for a significant matchup against UCLA next Saturday in Seattle.

This win not only marks a personal milestone for Few but also reinforces Gonzaga’s position as a powerhouse in college basketball, leaving fans eager for what’s next.
