BREAKING: The beloved spy drama Covert Affairs may be on the brink of a major comeback! As USA Network revives several fan-favorite series, interest in a reboot of the show, which originally aired from 2010 to 2015, is surging among fans and cast alike.
In an exciting development, actor Christopher Gorham, who portrayed CIA handler Auggie, has openly expressed his desire for a continuation of the series. “I’ve been pushing for years to try and get something going,” Gorham revealed. Despite his efforts, he notes that “there’s been no takers from the studios.” With interest from Gorham, original creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord, as well as leading star Piper Perabo, the potential for a reboot is tantalizing.
The original series left viewers with unresolved storylines, including cliffhangers involving Auggie and Annie. Gorham shared a compelling vision for the reboot: Annie discovers that Auggie is missing and must work with the CIA to find him, igniting a series of thrilling events. “Annie finds out that Auggie’s gone missing, and Natasha has been killed,” Gorham explained. “Then all kinds of craziness happens, and she finds him.”
The emotional stakes are high as Gorham hinted at a significant character development for Annie: “It ends with her and Auggie walking back into the CIA — not as a couple, but back where they belong, working together as operatives.” Fans can expect a blend of action, drama, and unresolved romantic tension that made the original series a hit.
While Gorham is not overly optimistic about the reboot being greenlit, he believes that Covert Affairs continues to resonate through his new series, Sheriff Country, which has already been renewed for a second season. “It’s an updated version of that USA ‘Blue Sky’ aesthetic,” he noted. “It’s darker because we’re dealing with crime, but it’s a town you want to live in.”
With several successful revivals currently airing, including new movies from Monk and Psych on Peacock, the time is ripe for studios to reconsider fan-favorite properties. As viewers clamor for nostalgic programming, the demand for a Covert Affairs reboot could be the next big trend in television.
Fans are urged to show their support on social media to generate buzz and increase the chances of bringing Covert Affairs back to life. As the conversation heats up, one thing is clear: the desire for this iconic series to return is stronger than ever. Keep an eye on upcoming announcements as the situation develops.
For now, stay tuned for more updates on the potential revival of this beloved series!
