Every dollar donated can provide a full day’s worth of diapers for a local baby, addressing a critical need in the community. “Nearly half of families with young children experience diaper need,” stated Michela Hugo, founder of the CNY Diaper Bank. “When so many families are unable to afford their most basic needs, it is a glaring sign that our system must change.”
The CNY Diaper Bank emphasizes the urgent necessity of diapers, which are not covered by programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or Women, Infants, and Children benefits. The cost of diapers can reach up to $100 per month for a single child, making it an overwhelming expense for many families.
“Community members can make a positive impact this holiday season by donating to help us provide diapers and prevent diaper need,” Hugo urged. The organization is currently the largest diaper bank in New York state, distributing an average of 200,000 diapers to 4,000 local babies and toddlers each month.
