UPDATE: A Winter Storm Advisory has been issued for numerous counties in central North Carolina as a significant snow system approaches. In response, several school districts have announced closures and schedule adjustments for Monday, February 5, 2024, impacting thousands of students and staff.

The Wake County Public School System has confirmed that all schools will be closed for students on Monday. There will be no make-up day required, and all calendars will utilize banked time. Additionally, all athletic and extracurricular events scheduled for Monday are canceled.

Durham Public Schools will also close for students and staff, with all district facilities shut down and activities canceled. Essential personnel are advised to report to work as directed by their supervisors.

Orange County Schools: Closed for students and staff members.
Johnston County Public Schools: All schools will be closed.
Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools: Closed for students, with an optional remote workday for staff.
Wilson County Schools: All schools closed for students and staff, with after-school activities canceled.
Warren County Schools: Closed, with staff working remotely.
Wayne County Schools: Dismissing all schools two hours early, with after-school programs and activities canceled.
