UPDATE: Amazon has just announced its highly anticipated NBA Cup broadcast schedule, confirming that 17 games will be available on Prime Video, including the championship match. This announcement comes as the NBA prepares for a thrilling season, with the first games kicking off on October 31, 2023.
The NBA Cup will feature an exciting format with 10 group games and knockout rounds exclusively on Prime Video. Fans can look forward to an action-packed series of doubleheaders dubbed “NBA on Prime Cup Nights,” running for five consecutive weeks starting on Halloween. The inaugural match will showcase a fierce rivalry as the Boston Celtics visit the Philadelphia 76ers, while the Memphis Grizzlies take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
Mark your calendars! The NBA Cup continues with a highly anticipated showdown on November 7, featuring Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs hosting the Houston Rockets, who will see the return of superstar Kevin Durant. Following that, the Golden State Warriors, led by Steph Curry, will travel to face the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
The schedule also includes crucial matchups such as Miami visiting New York on November 14, and a pivotal game on November 28 when the Milwaukee Bucks travel to face the New York Knicks while the Lakers, featuring LeBron James, host the Dallas Mavericks and their number one overall pick, Cooper Flagg.
In addition to the Prime Video games, the other 50 group games will be distributed among ESPN, NBC, and NBA League Pass, ensuring that fans have multiple viewing options. Notably, NBC will broadcast a doubleheader on November 25, featuring the Philadelphia 76ers against the Orlando Magic and the LA Clippers visiting the Lakers.
The excitement doesn’t stop there! ESPN will air three group games on November 26, including the Detroit Pistons visiting the Celtics, and a rematch of last year’s Western Conference Finals where the Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Earlier this week, the NBA also revealed key dates for opening night, Christmas, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day games, building anticipation for the entire season. A complete schedule detailing all 80 of the 82 games for all teams will be released on Thursday, with the final two games announced in December based on teams’ performances in the NBA Cup.
As the NBA Cup approaches, fans are gearing up for what promises to be an electrifying series of games. Stay tuned for more updates and prepare for a season filled with unforgettable moments and fierce competition!
