ultra-rare-crighton-cr700w-superbike-hits-market-for-154-495

A highly exclusive superbike, the Crighton CR700W, has been listed for sale, appealing to motorcycle enthusiasts and collectors alike. This machine, produced in a limited run of only 25 units, boasts a remarkable output of 220 horsepower from its dual-rotary 690cc engine. As of now, this specific model, numbered 15 of the 25, is available for £154,495, approximately US$200,000 based on current conversion rates.

Unveiled in November 2021, the Crighton CR700W is often described as an ultimate track weapon, designed by Brian Crighton, a noted figure in the world of rotary-powered racing motorcycles. This particular bike has seen minimal use, with a recorded mileage of under 125 miles (200 km). It has participated in just two track days at Donington Park GP, accumulating a total of three hours of riding before returning to Crighton for servicing.

The specifications of the CR700W are striking. It generates nearly 319 hp per liter, surpassing high-performance superbikes like the Ducati Panigale V4, which delivers around 210-220 hp per liter, and MotoGP machines that achieve about 300 hp per liter. The entire engine and transmission assembly weighs a mere 101 lb (46 kg), inclusive of its six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.

When considering weight, the CR700W has a dry weight of just 285.5 lb (129.5 kg), creating a power-to-weight ratio that raises eyebrows among seasoned riders. The bike is built on a high-quality chassis derived from Spondon, featuring custom aluminum alloy extrusions and a single shock rear swing-arm. Upfront, the bike is equipped with Ohlins FGR 300 race forks and Brembo GP4-MS 108-mm brake calipers, ensuring premium handling and stopping power. Complementing its performance are Bridgestone race-spec tires, designed to grip the track under demanding conditions.

The exhaust system, crafted from titanium and inconel, is engineered to enhance the rotary engine’s performance by generating a high-energy vacuum internally, according to Crighton. The entire motorcycle is enveloped in lightweight carbon fiber, further contributing to its impressive specifications and aesthetic appeal.

With its limited production and exceptional performance capabilities, the Crighton CR700W represents a rare opportunity for collectors and racing enthusiasts. Those interested in making this remarkable machine their own will need to act quickly, as the demand for such exclusive motorcycles is high.
