quadrante-expands-u-s-presence-with-right-analytics-acquisition

Portuguese engineering consultancy firm Quadrante has announced its acquisition of Los Angeles-based power transmission consulting firm Right Analytics. This strategic move is part of Quadrante’s broader initiative to expand its operations in the United States, a market it recently entered by establishing Quadrante US LLC in October 2023.

Founded in 2019 by Saman Babei, Right Analytics specializes in electrical transmission systems and has built a diverse client portfolio that includes major players such as Google and various data center companies. Following the acquisition, Babei will take on the role of chief operating officer for the U.S. operation, which will be overseen by Eduardo Llorente.

In a statement, Nuno Costa, co-founder and chief executive of Quadrante, emphasized the company’s growth strategy: “We are looking to acquire more companies in the U.S. later this year that will further strengthen our position.” He highlighted that the acquisition aligns with Quadrante’s focus on key areas within the energy sector, particularly in transmission and distribution, data centers, and engineering services.

Quadrante described the newly formed entity, Quadrante Right Analytics, as bringing valuable assets to the table, including active contracts and a strong reputation with North American utilities and system operators. The firm has established relationships with prominent clients such as the New York Power Authority, Dominion Energy, National Grid, and Southern California Edison. It is also actively involved in ongoing projects with technology companies and data center developers, further enhancing its market presence.

Quadrante, founded in 1998 by engineers João Costa, Nuno Costa, and Nuno Martins, operates in various sectors including energy, mobility, and sustainable cities. The firm has expanded its reach to over 25 countries and recorded a revenue of €122 million in 2025. Notable flagship projects in Portugal include the new Porto Metro line, a lithium battery gigafactory in Sines, the new south pier at Humberto Delgado Airport, the Lisbon Eastern Hospital, and the Gulbenkian Modern Art Centre.

Quadrante is primarily owned by its founders, holding 50.5% of the company, while the remaining 49.5% is owned by the private equity fund Henko Partners. The acquisition of Right Analytics marks a significant step in Quadrante’s strategy to solidify its presence in the U.S. market, with plans for further expansion throughout the year.
