Following a chaotic brainstorming session, the name OpenClaw was adopted, with Steinberger noting that this new title reflects the project’s current capabilities. However, this platform faced a serious setback when security researcher Jamieson O’Reilly revealed that its database was publicly exposed, including sensitive API keys linked to high-profile figures like Andrej Karpathy, a former director of AI at Tesla.
