Eufy has launched its new smart display, the Smart Display E10, which is poised to compete directly with established players like Amazon and Google. Designed to integrate seamlessly into the Eufy smart home ecosystem, the E10 boasts several advanced features, including facial recognition, quad-view live streaming, and event summaries, all powered by a built-in battery that lasts up to 24 hours for added portability.
The device features an 8-inch HD display, which can be either wall-mounted or placed on a desk with the included stands. While it can be plugged in for continuous use, the option for a battery allows users to move it around the house as needed. Notably, the Smart Display E10 supports Wi-Fi 6, ensuring a fast and reliable connection, and operates on a local area network without the need for ads or monthly fees.
Frank Zhu, Eufy’s general manager, stated, “At Eufy, we believe that smart home security should be effortless, intuitive, and accessible to everyone in the family.” He emphasized that the Smart Display E10 is crafted to be the central control hub for Eufy’s security devices, showcasing advanced artificial intelligence capabilities and multi-camera viewing options.
The display allows users to monitor up to four live camera feeds simultaneously. This independence from the Eufy mobile app enhances convenience for all household members, making it easier for children and the elderly to interact with their home security system. Whether placed on a kitchen counter or mounted on the wall, the E10 serves as a user-friendly interface for home security needs.
When paired with the Eufy HomeBase S380, which acts as a security smart home hub, the E10 can identify visitors by name using facial recognition technology. It also employs artificial intelligence to generate daily summaries, compiling video clips of relevant activities throughout the day.
The Smart Display E10 is currently available for $200, with a promotional discount of 15% available using the code WS24T87A01W1 at checkout. Due to high demand, orders placed after July 6, 2023, are expected to ship in early August, according to information provided on the Eufy website.
While the E10 shows promise, it is worth noting that it is designed to work exclusively with Eufy devices. Consumers who prefer other ecosystems may look into alternatives like the Amazon Echo Hub for Alexa devices or the Google Pixel Tablet for Google Home integration. As the smart home market continues to evolve, Eufy’s Smart Display E10 stands out as a compelling option for those already invested in their ecosystem.
