This win marks the Jackets’ second triumph over the Cougars this season, solidifying their competitive edge in area play.
Early in the match, Vincent showcased a strong defensive performance, allowing the Cougars to score only six points in the first quarter. The Yellow Jackets quickly established their dominance with contributions from players like Aaliyah Johnson and Daniah Jordan, who combined for several baskets. By the end of the first quarter, Vincent held a 12-6 lead.
In the second quarter, the Jackets continued to build their advantage. Kinsley Perkins added to the score by successfully converting three of her four free throws, ending the half with a total of six points. Johnson maintained her momentum with two additional field goals during the quarter. Despite limited offensive contributions from other players, Vincent’s defense was formidable, conceding only one field goal in the entire second quarter. This effort enabled the Jackets to extend their lead to 21-13 at halftime.
Strong Third Quarter Performance
