Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains uncertain for the upcoming game against the Chicago Bears on November 26, 2023. Following a small fracture in his left wrist during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the 41-year-old is pushing for participation at Soldier Field. The Steelers, currently holding a 6-4 record, are deliberating over Rodgers’ status as game day approaches.

Coach Mike Tomlin indicated that the team will assess whether they can adequately protect Rodgers’ wrist with a brace or padding, allowing him to perform essential tasks such as taking snaps, handing off the ball, and protecting himself during falls. ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano reported that the decision regarding Rodgers might not be finalized until later in the week.

In his absence during the Bengals game, Mason Rudolph stepped in and completed 12 of 16 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his capability to lead the team. Despite Rudolph’s strong performance, the Steelers face a critical decision: whether to field a potentially compromised Rodgers or rely on a fully healthy Rudolph.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport mentioned on the “Good Morning Football” program that Rodgers is eager to practice later in the week, bolstering hopes for his return. Rodgers has a notable history against the Bears, having achieved a record of 24-5 with 64 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in regular-season games against them. His previous successes against Chicago add an extra layer of significance to this matchup.

The Steelers are fully aware of the stakes involved. With the Baltimore Ravens winning four consecutive games to improve to 5-5, every game is crucial in the race for the AFC North title. This Sunday, the Ravens will host the struggling New York Jets, who currently hold a 2-8 record.

As of Wednesday morning, sportsbooks listed the Steelers as 2.5-point underdogs for their game against the Bears. The team’s strategy for the week will focus on preparing both Rodgers and Rudolph, with the expectation that they must be ready for any scenario come game day.
