The local high school girls’ soccer scene witnessed impressive performances as several teams secured decisive shutout victories on Thursday. Notably, Schuylkill Haven triumphed over Williams Valley with a commanding score of 10-0, while Blue Mountain and Tri-Valley also delivered solid wins in their respective matches.

Schuylkill Haven Dominates Williams Valley

In a remarkable display, the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes overwhelmed the Williams Valley team. Taylor Haag shined with three goals, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Other scorers included Kylie Siket, Ava Terefencko, Audrey Hutchinson, Kelly Ulsh, and Madison Bayer. Terefencko had a standout performance, netting two goals, both assisted by Haag. Schuylkill Haven registered a total of 17 shots on goal, while Williams Valley managed only one.

The goals unfolded as follows:

Blue Mountain and Tri-Valley Follow Suit

In a tight contest, the Blue Mountain Eagles secured a 1-0 victory against Pine Grove, with Gianna Chipriano scoring the only goal in the first half. The Eagles maintained control throughout the match, with goalkeeper Karley Koch making one save. Lexi Waschko assisted Chipriano on the goal.

Meanwhile, North Schuylkill achieved a 2-0 shutout over Tamaqua. Alyzza Rockwell opened the scoring in the first half, followed by a second goal from Mylee Bindie in the second half. North Schuylkill dominated with 23 shots on goal, while Tamaqua struggled to find the net, managing only six shots. Tamaqua’s goalkeeper Ceanna Gormley made an impressive 19 saves.

In another exciting matchup, Tri-Valley triumphed over Lourdes with a score of 5-0. Maggie Hoffman-Long was a standout player, scoring four goals in the first half, with assists from Ivy Sankus and Allie Pennypacker. Ayla Huss completed the scoring in the second half with an assist from Emma Specht.
