The Meridian Wildcats hosted the Ocean Springs Greyhounds in their home opener on August 30, 2025. Unfortunately, the Wildcats were unable to leverage their home-field advantage, suffering a decisive loss with a final score of 35-0. The team will look to turn their fortunes around when they face Neshoba Central on September 5.
In contrast, the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans began their season on a positive note, also playing on Thursday.
