The Alaska Nanooks volleyball team has achieved a significant milestone by qualifying for the NCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament for the first time in the program’s history. With a strong regular season record of 23-5 and a 14-4 finish in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Nanooks secured the No. 5 seed in the upcoming West Region Championships.
This historic season was highlighted by the team’s successful campaign that culminated in a share of the GNAC Championship, marking the first conference title for the Nanooks. Upcoming Matchup Against Alaska Anchorage
The Nanooks are set to face their in-state rival, the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves, who are seeded No. 4, in the opening round of the championships. This highly anticipated match will take place on Thursday, December 4, with first serve scheduled for 19:00 PST in San Diego.
The winner of this first-round matchup will advance to the round of 32 on Friday, December 5, where they will compete against the winner of the match between the No. 1 seed Point Loma Sea Lions and the No. 8 seed Cal State San Bernardino Yotes.
