
Barbara Ann Ott, a cherished member of the Manhattan Beach community, passed away on September 24, 2025, at the age of 88. Surrounded by her loving family and friends, she left behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones.
Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Barron “Barry” Craig Ott. Together, they shared a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She was predeceased by her sons, David Barron and Christopher Vosnick, and is survived by her devoted son, Craig Brian Ott, his wife, Kristin Noel Ott, and her adored grandson, Kyler Craig Ott. Additional family members include David’s widow, Molly Ott, along with her nieces, Leanne Ciscerio and Vickey McClarey Vosnick, and her cousins, Kathy Krause, Mary Slayter, and Nancy Autio.
Community Involvement and Passion for Faith
Barbara and Barry first met in San Francisco, California, before settling in Manhattan Beach, where Barbara lived for over 65 years. Her commitment to the community was evident through her active membership in the philanthropic organization Sandpipers, which focuses on giving back. She also devoted time to the Bishop Montgomery High School auction, supporting causes that resonated deeply with her.
Faith played a significant role in Barbara’s life. She was a devoted parishioner at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach, where she regularly attended mass and fostered lifelong friendships with fellow parishioners. Her strong sense of community extended to her love for hosting gatherings, where friends and family would enjoy good food, laughter, and spirited discussions, often centered around the University of Oregon Ducks football games.
A Life Rich in Memories and Adventure
Travel was another passion for Barbara, with Maui, Hawaii, holding a special place in her heart. It was a destination she eagerly shared with her family and friends. Known for her warmth and hospitality, she created countless cherished memories during her adventures and gatherings.
Barbara’s generous spirit and unwavering love for her family and community will continue to resonate with those who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for her kindness and ability to bring people together.
A funeral service will be held at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach at 10:00 a.m. on November 14, 2025. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbara’s life and the impact she made on all who knew her.
