In a recent episode of “Pod Force One,” former President Donald Trump expressed both amusement and concern regarding the prospect of a Hunter BidenJasmine Crockett Democratic presidential ticket in the 2028 election. Trump remarked, “That would be some ticket. No, these people are crazy, so you never know what’s going to happen.” His comments followed a lighthearted exchange with the New York Post’s columnist Miranda Devine, who suggested the pairing could be a possibility.

The discussion arose after Hunter Biden publicly defended his father, current President Joe Biden, during interviews conducted last week. Hunter attributed the Democrats’ potential loss in the upcoming 2024 election to the party’s failure to support his father. He specifically criticized the President’s performance in the June 27, 2024, debate against Trump, suggesting it was impacted by the use of Ambien without a prescription.

Trump Critiques Democratic Strategy

Trump pointedly remarked, “They had two chances to win the election. They had him, and that didn’t work out, and he was down by 25 points or something, and then they switched him. It’s like taking a prize fighter out in the middle of the fight. It’s not fair.” He criticized the decision to replace Biden with Kamala Harris, stating, “Nobody knew who Kamala was.” Trump further indicated skepticism about Harris’s prospects for the 2028 election, while also spotlighting Crockett as a rising star within the Democratic Party.

Crockett, a Texas congresswoman, has been a staunch defender of President Biden, asserting that his mental acuity surpasses that of Trump. In a recent interview on Katie Couric’s “Next Question” podcast, she described Biden as a “granddaddy,” emphasizing her confidence in his capabilities. Her remarks have generated significant attention, especially following a profile piece in The Atlantic that highlighted her personal touch in her public persona, including using a photo of herself as her phone’s lock screen wallpaper.

Hunter Biden’s Growing Visibility

Hunter Biden’s recent media appearances have also drawn attention from other influential figures. Podcast host Joe Rogan noted that Hunter “could be president” one day, suggesting that he presented himself as “smarter than his dad” during his interviews. This commentary reflects a shifting perception of Biden as he navigates the complexities of his family’s political legacy.

In a twist during the podcast, Devine inquired about Trump’s potential interest in becoming the First Minister of Scotland once his presidential term concludes. Trump, whose mother Mary Anne MacLeod was born on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, responded, “I could do that.” He expressed a sense of eligibility, saying, “I could be, within six months or something like that. But it is a special place.”

Trump’s remarks not only illuminate his views on the Democratic landscape but also reveal his ongoing relevance in political discussions as the 2024 election approaches. With various potential candidates emerging, the dynamics of the upcoming race remain fluid and unpredictable.
