The temporary location at Perdido Street proved to be problematic. Court proceedings were frequently disrupted, particularly during a cold snap in December that resulted in the cancellation of sessions. Issues with heating and electrical systems compounded the difficulties, leading to further delays in court operations.
According to Monique Boissiere, the Judicial Administrator, the decision to return to Broad Street not only restores a physical space but also revitalizes the spirit of the local justice system. In a statement, Boissiere confirmed, “The Court will open the doors to the public beginning Monday, January 5, and will operate during regular court hours.”
