Morgan County voters are preparing for significant local and statewide decisions in the upcoming election on November 4, 2025. The ballots will feature races for school board seats, city council positions, and various municipal ballot questions. To assist residents, Kevin Strauch, the Morgan County Clerk and Recorder, has outlined essential information regarding voting procedures, including key dates and ballot details.

Ballots for the 2025 Coordinated Election will be mailed to active registered voters in Morgan County on October 10. Voters are reminded that completed ballots must be received by 19:00 on Election Day to be counted. In the event that a ballot is lost or damaged, residents are advised to contact the Election Office at 970-542-3521, Option 5.

Voters will have the opportunity to decide on statewide measures and local issues in Fort Morgan, Brush, and Wiggins. The election process offers multiple options for submitting ballots: voters can return them via mail, drop them off at secure locations, or cast them in person at designated Voter Service and Polling Centers. If a voter’s registration is active and their address is current, the ballot will be mailed on the scheduled date. Those who do not receive their ballot are encouraged to notify the Election Office promptly, as ballots are not forwardable.

Once ballots arrive, it is important for voters to carefully review the candidates and questions. Instructions must be followed precisely, including signing the envelope before returning it. Notably, ballots will be available in both English and Spanish. For those opting to mail their ballots, it is recommended to send them at least one week prior to Election Day, as postmarks will not be considered; ballots must physically arrive by the 19:00 deadline on November 4.

Secure, 24-hour drop boxes will be available starting October 10 at several locations, including the Morgan County Administration Building at 231 Ensign St. in Fort Morgan, Brush City Hall at 600 Edison St., and Wiggins Town Hall at 304 Central Ave.. Additionally, ballots can be dropped off at the Morgan County Clerk’s Office.

For those who prefer to vote in person, there will be one voting center available at the Clerk’s Office located in the County Administrative Building. This center will operate on weekdays from October 27 to November 3, from 08:00 to 16:00, and on Saturday, November 1, from 08:00 to 12:00. On Election Day, the center will be open from 07:00 to 19:00.

Voters can track their ballots using BallotTrax or the website GoVoteColorado.gov. Through BallotTrax, individuals can receive updates via email, text message, or phone call, allowing them to know when their ballot is mailed, received, and accepted for counting. Voter registration is available throughout the election period, including on Election Day, and can be done online or in person at the Clerk’s office.

Strauch emphasized the importance of participation, stating, “Coordinated Elections typically have the lowest turnout of any elections. For voters who want to have a say in their community, these local elections are extremely important, as these issues and candidates will have a direct impact on their daily lives.” He encouraged residents to engage in the electoral process, noting that a lack of candidates may provide an even greater opportunity for those interested in running for office in subsequent elections.
