This distressing event took place at a location that houses several high-profile tenants, including the National Football League (NFL) and major financial firms such as KPMG and Blackstone. Surveillance footage revealed that he shot at a woman who sought refuge behind a pillar in the lobby. The assailant then continued to fire indiscriminately, targeting a security guard who was attempting to take cover behind his desk and another man in the area before accessing an elevator.
The shooter ultimately took his own life on the 33rd floor, where the headquarters of Rudin, the building’s ownership, is located, after fatally shooting one additional person. Commissioner Tisch noted that authorities in Las Vegas reported that Tamura had a documented history of mental health issues, while the motives behind the shooting remain under investigation.
