Elece E. Scott, a cherished member of the Williamsburg community, passed away on September 18, 2025, at the age of 76. Born Elece Elizabeth Scott, she was raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, by her mother, Rebecca R. Davidson, and stepfather, Jewell N. Davidson. Her life journey took her to Murray State University before she married Beverly Hester Scott in 1967. The couple settled in Warrenton, Virginia, where they welcomed their four children, later moving to Williamsburg, where they made their home for the past 40 years.

Elece dedicated over three decades of her life to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, where she became known for her commitment to the preservation of the area’s rich history. She retired in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of community service and dedication to her work. Her love for Williamsburg was evident in her daily life, and she was happiest when surrounded by family.

Survived by her four children—Angela Scott Wallander (Bill), Christian Hunter Scott, Beverly Hester Scott II (Stefanie), and Raleigh Clay Scott)—Elece also leaves behind two granddaughters, Dee Wallander Rindt and Becky Scott Schultz, and three grandsons, Wesley Scott, Willem Scott, and Wyatt Scott. She was particularly proud of her four great-grandchildren, with whom she shared a deep bond.

In addition to her immediate family, Elece is survived by her sister, Dixie D. Wolf, of Williamsburg, and her brother, Donald J. Davidson, of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bev, who passed away prior to her.

A visitation is scheduled at Bucktrout Funeral Home on September 29 at 10:00 am, followed by a graveside service at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Williamsburg at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Elece’s name to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, reflecting her lifelong commitment to the community.

Elece E. Scott’s impact on those around her will be remembered fondly, as she embodied the spirit of Virginia and the warmth of family. Her legacy will continue through the memories shared by her loved ones and the community she cherished.
