Tyngsboro High School has recognized its January Students of the Month, celebrating the outstanding achievements of four exceptional students. The honorees are Kiley Hogan, Kweku Ofosuhene, Themistocles Pelekoudas, and Mia Puopolo, each demonstrating remarkable academic and extracurricular accomplishments.

Kiley Hogan: A Leader in Athletics and Academics

Kiley Hogan, daughter of Tim Hogan and Jennifer Brooks, has received multiple accolades, including the Outstanding Achievement in Business Award and the Core Values Award. A dedicated member of the PALS Program, Kiley has excelled as a four-year member of the varsity softball team, serving as captain for two years. Under her leadership, the team reached the state finals for two consecutive seasons. Additionally, she earned the distinction of being named the Lowell Sun Player of the Year for two years in a row.

Kiley remains active in her community, volunteering with Tyngsboro youth and participating in the Give Kids the World service trip. Her favorite subject is English, and she plans to attend Boston University to continue her education in teaching while also pursuing her passion for softball.

Kweku Ofosuhene: A Commitment to Learning and Service

Kweku Ofosuhene, son of Fred and Emma Ofosuhene, stands out as an exemplary student with an impressive array of awards. He has received honors such as the University of Rochester Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award, the Commitment to Learning Award, and the Principal’s Award among others. Kweku is involved in various school organizations, including DECA and PALS, while also participating in athletics as a member of both the varsity track and field team and the varsity soccer team.

His community service work includes volunteering for the African Community Center of Lowell and contributing to his church’s media team. Kweku enjoys sports and music, with his favorite subject being world history. He aims to earn a bachelor’s degree, followed by a master’s degree in his chosen field.

Themistocles Pelekoudas: A Passion for Science and Community

Themistocles Pelekoudas, son of Linda and Nikolaos Pelekoudas, is a dedicated member of the National Honor Society and has garnered several awards, including Outstanding Achievement in Science and the Brown Alumnus Book Award. Themistocles is actively involved in DECA and the ASL Club and participated in the wrestling team for a season.

His commitment extends to community service, where he has served as an altar boy at his church and volunteered at local Greek Food Festivals. He enjoys playing guitar, Greek dance, cooking, reading, and working out. His favorite subjects are science and history, and he aspires to become a biomedical engineer before transitioning to a teaching career and eventually owning his own restaurant.

Mia Puopolo: An Advocate for Health and Wellness

Mia Puopolo, daughter of Erica and Charlie Puopolo, is another distinguished member of the National Honor Society, recognized for her accomplishments in academics and extracurricular activities. She has received numerous awards, including Outstanding Achievement in World Language and the Academic Excellence Award. Mia serves as the secretary of the National Honor Society and is involved in HOSA, DECA, and is a PALS leader.

As a member of the varsity track team, she earned the MVP award in 2024 and also participates in fencing, where she received the Sportsmanship Award. Mia has dedicated her time to community service through the Give Kids the World service trip and the Boston MedFlight patient reunion. Her hobbies include spending time with her dog, baking, and listening to music. She plans to pursue a nursing career in college, focusing on her favorite subjects, biology and anatomy.

The recognition of these students not only highlights their achievements but also underscores the values of leadership, service, and dedication at Tyngsboro High School.
