
The East Mississippi Community College (EMCC) celebrated its annual Homecoming on October 11, 2025, by recognizing outstanding students from its Scooba and Golden Triangle campuses. During the event held on Sullivan-Windham Field, Trinton Nash was honored as Mr. EMCC for the Scooba campus, while Matthew Davis and Shakyrah Mullen received titles for the Golden Triangle campus.
Trinton Nash, a resident of Meridian, is pursuing a degree in Music Education with a focus on vocal and instrumental studies. His achievement highlights not only his academic dedication but also the vibrant student life at the Scooba campus.
On the Golden Triangle campus, Matthew Davis from Crawford was named Mr. EMCC. The sophomore is majoring in Precision Machining, showcasing the diverse academic pathways available at the college. Alongside him, Shakyrah Mullen, a Columbus resident, was crowned Miss EMCC for the Golden Triangle campus. Mullen is currently studying Secondary Education, reflecting the institution’s commitment to fostering future educators.
The event served as a platform to strengthen community ties and celebrate student achievements. Kyleigh Moore, also recognized during the festivities, was named Miss EMCC for the Scooba campus. Moore, a resident of Philadelphia, is majoring in social sciences, further emphasizing the range of disciplines at EMCC.
These titles not only honor individual accomplishments but also promote a sense of pride within the student body. The Homecoming ceremony is a significant tradition at EMCC, reinforcing the college’s mission to empower students through education and community involvement.
