A clothing store in Santa Ana, California, was burglarized for the third time this year, leaving the owner grappling with significant financial losses. Surveillance footage captured three masked individuals breaking into The Hype Rack and making off with several bags filled with clothing and other merchandise.
Owner Brandon Aguilera expressed his frustration, noting that the thieves were in and out of the store in less than three minutes. “They basically came in, took everything they wanted to take, and left,” Aguilera said. The estimated loss from this incident is around $20,000, which includes the costs associated with repairing the damage to the store’s windows.
Aguilera highlighted that the timing of the burglary was particularly disheartening, as he had just restocked his inventory with approximately $10,000 worth of clothing. “We had just invested about $10,000 worth of clothing. They literally came and they took basically everything,” he lamented. The robbery occurred just two days after the new inventory was placed on the shelves.
Surveillance video shows the suspects fleeing the scene, first running down the stairs and then across the parking lot. Aguilera has taken steps to address the situation, including filing reports with the Santa Ana Police and reaching out to local city leaders for assistance in protecting his business.
Despite these efforts, Aguilera is concerned about the sustainability of his store. “It’s emotional because it hurts. It really does hurt,” he shared. “Right now, we’re in a pretty deep hole.”
Anyone with information regarding the identities of the thieves is encouraged to contact the Santa Ana Police Department.
