Melissa L. Roff, a cherished member of the Modena, NY community, passed away on December 25, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer. She was 60 years old. Roff spent her final moments at MidHudson Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family, who she regarded as the center of her world.
Born on April 12, 1965, Roff dedicated her life to being a protector and source of unconditional love for her loved ones. Her tenacity was evident not only in her fight against illness but in all aspects of her life. In her last days, she remained at home, enveloped in the warmth and presence of her family, ensuring that she was not alone in her final moments.
Family was the cornerstone of Roff’s existence. She is survived by her beloved dog, Mack, and her children: Nicholas DelPezzo (known as Trish), Michael DelPezzo (known as Tara), Anthony Roff, Ashley Roff, and Sean Roff. Roff took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Melaina, Aaliyah, Hayden, Josh, Feliciano, Aubrey, Tony, Yvonne, Alexis, Emanuel, Maleki, and Arianna. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Kael.
Roff’s love extended beyond her immediate family. She shared a deep bond with her fiancé, Stacey, and embraced his children and grandchildren as her own, demonstrating a remarkable capacity for love without boundaries. Her siblings, Teresa (known as Ron), Mike (known as Eileen), Bill (known as Sharon), and Jennifer, also grieve her loss.
In addition to her immediate family, Roff maintained strong connections with her cousins, including Sloane in North Carolina and Dawnwilla and Karen in Florida. Her passing marks a significant loss, as she joins her parents, John and Lois Roff, her brother, John Roff, and her beloved granddaughter, Somia.
Roff’s life was characterized by deep devotion to those she loved. Her family finds solace in their belief that she is now at peace, celebrating the ultimate Christmas with her Lord Jesus.
While no formal services will be held at this time, a celebration of life will be arranged in the future, allowing friends and family to honor her memory. As
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
encapsulates her spirit, Roff’s legacy of love will continue to resonate with all who knew her.
