Your Pit Crew for Product Innovation

Puratos U.S., a prominent supplier of bakery and sweet goods ingredients, unveiled a range of innovative solutions and received multiple industry accolades at the IBIE 2025 event held in Las Vegas. The company’s new products address pressing challenges such as rising production costs, clean label reformulation, and the need for faster innovation cycles, positioning Puratos as a strategic ally for bakers navigating a competitive landscape.

At the heart of the exhibition, Andy Brimacombe, Puratos U.S. President, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting industrial bakers, foodservice operators, and retailers in adapting to evolving market trends, which include clean label initiatives and consumer demand for healthier options. “We work closely with our customers to help them stay ahead of trends—whether that’s clean label, gut health, or just making great-tasting baked goods faster and more efficiently,” Brimacombe stated.

Awards and Recognitions at IBIE 2025

Puratos’ efforts at IBIE were recognized with two prestigious Best in Baking Awards for Sustainability and Workforce Development. These accolades build upon the company’s previous achievement in 2022, when it established the first U.S.-based Bakery School in Pennsauken, NJ.

The company’s Cubease, a precision-engineered dough conditioner, received accolades for its sustainability features, which simplify dosing, minimize waste, and reduce the environmental impact of baking operations. Additionally, the Calling for Caring initiative promotes employee wellness and a supportive workplace environment, earning recognition earlier this year as a recipient of the American Bakers Association ‘Champions for a Better Tomorrow’ Award. Puratos’ commitment to sustainable packaging was also acknowledged with an honorable mention for its Ecopak, which focuses on transitioning to reusable or recyclable materials.

Innovative Product Launches

Central to Puratos’ exhibit was the Industrial Pilot Bakery, developed in collaboration with AMF Bakery Systems. Featured in IBIE’s Innovation Showcase, this facility allows industrial bakers to advance from concept to commercialization without interrupting their production lines, effectively minimizing risk and reducing time to market. Complementing this initiative was the Sensobus, a mobile sensory lab outside the convention center where attendees could sample products and gain real-time consumer insights.

Several groundbreaking products were unveiled during the event. The Softgrain Ancient Grain Clean Label offers a healthier option by enabling bakers to incorporate sourdough-soaked grains directly into their breads, enhancing flavor and nutrition while streamlining production. This product highlights ancient grains such as einkorn, emmer, and spelt, which have remained unchanged for millennia.

Another innovative offering, the Intens Fresh 3-30 Premium, is an enzyme-based dough conditioner designed to extend the freshness of sweet breads while supporting sugar reduction. It also delivers notable cost savings for products containing 5% sugar or more. Additionally, the Carat Compound Chunks, certified through the Cacao-Trace program, provide bakers with a sustainable, cost-effective alternative that mimics the taste and texture of real chocolate, insulating them from fluctuations in the cocoa market.

Brimacombe concluded, “IBIE 2025 was more than a showcase – it was a celebration of what’s possible when innovation is driven by purpose. We’re proud that our products and people were recognized with multiple awards, underscoring that Food Innovation for Good is not just our mission, but our practice.”
