The Mossyrock Vikings triumphed over the Raymond Ravens with a score of 37-28 in a tightly contested non-league basketball match held at Raymond High School on October 5, 2023. This victory marks Mossyrock’s fourth win of the season, improving their record to 4-2.

Mossyrock showcased their strong defensive strategy, which has been a hallmark of their play over the past two years. The Vikings maintained control throughout the game, allowing the Ravens to score no more than eight points in any quarter. This defensive effort is particularly noteworthy as it led to the team’s consecutive game in which they have limited their opponents to exactly 28 points.

Adyson Barrows was the standout performer for the Vikings, contributing significantly with 17 points. Maci Rashoff added another 8 points, helping to solidify the team’s lead. Despite three players from Mossyrock accumulating at least four fouls, their disciplined approach on defense allowed them to hold off the Ravens effectively.

Vikings head coach Nick Rashoff expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, emphasizing their resilience and effort. “I was happy with our effort and resilience,” Rashoff said. “Our defense and rebounding were pretty good all night, and offensively we hit big shots at the right times.”

Looking ahead, the Vikings are set to face their rival, the unbeaten Morton-White Pass, on Saturday in another non-league matchup. This upcoming game presents an opportunity for Mossyrock to extend their winning streak and further establish their presence in District 4 basketball.

The commitment to defense and teamwork displayed by the Mossyrock Vikings bodes well as they prepare for the challenges ahead in the remainder of the season.
