Oliver F. “Ollie” Rhine, a respected educator and U.S. Army veteran, passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 92 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. Rhine’s contributions to education in the Marple Newtown School District were significant, as he dedicated his career to teaching until his retirement in 1994.

Born to the late James and Sarah Cooley Rhine, Ollie Rhine was the youngest of seven siblings, all of whom have preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Florence “Floss” Conner Rhine, and is the father of Keith D. Rhine, known as Mickey. Rhine also leaves behind two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who cherished their time with him.

Rhine served his country honorably in the U.S. Army, and his legacy extends beyond his military service. He was known for his commitment to education and the impact he had on countless students throughout his teaching career. Those who knew him remember his dedication and passion for nurturing young minds.

Memorial Services Scheduled

A burial rite and Eucharist will take place at 11:00 AM on August 1, 2025, at Christ Church Episcopal, located at 104 Nevin Street, Ridley Park, PA 19078. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service. Following the service, burial will occur in the church’s adjoining memorial garden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Christ Church Episcopal or to Ascend Hospice, located at 1120 Welsh Road, North Wales, PA 19454. These donations will honor Rhine’s memory and support causes that were important to him.
