Pet owners are invited to celebrate their furry friends during the upcoming Dog Days event at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Scheduled for this weekend, the event will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of the Garden while spending quality time with their dogs. Regular admission fees apply for humans, with an additional charge of $5 per dog.

The Garden is committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. To facilitate this, hydration stations will be available throughout the campus, ensuring that dogs stay cool and hydrated. Members of the Garden, both human and canine, will have free access to the event. Those interested in becoming members can sign up on-site.

Guidelines for a Safe and Enjoyable Experience

To maintain the safety of all visitors and their pets, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden has established a set of rules and etiquette for the weekend. All dogs must be leashed, over four months old, and up to date on their vaccinations. Notably, dogs in heat are not permitted on the premises.

Guests are reminded that dogs cannot be left unattended in vehicles, and waste must be bagged and disposed of in designated trash receptacles. The Garden will provide bags for this purpose. Additionally, dogs are prohibited from entering the Rock Springs Café, the Rainforest Conservatory, and on trams.

All canine guests should be well-socialized and display good behavior. If dogs exhibit aggressive behavior, Garden staff reserve the right to request that the owner leave the premises with their pet. To protect the Garden’s horticultural displays, guests are asked to remain on trails, pathways, and open lawn areas.

Responsibility and Consideration for All Guests

Dog owners are fully responsible for their pets during the event. The Fort Worth Botanic Garden will not be liable for any injuries or illnesses that may occur. Guests are encouraged to ask permission before approaching unfamiliar dogs and to manage interactions, particularly with children present.

As the weekend unfolds, visitors are reminded to leave the Garden as they found it, collecting all dog treats, waste, and any other items brought along. To enhance the experience, FWBG staff recommend that human guests wear sturdy walking shoes and take precautions against sun exposure.

With a focus on community and enjoyment, Dog Days promises to be a delightful weekend for dog lovers and their pets alike.
