Edward Stephen Andrejko, a longtime resident of Burnt Hills, New York, and more recently of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2025. He was known for his friendships, passions, and the wealth of stories he shared with those who knew him. His legacy of kindness and wisdom will endure in the hearts of his loved ones.

Early Life and Education

Born on May 28, 1936, in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, Ed was the son of Anna (Kulek) and Emory Andrejko. He pursued higher education at Penn State in Wilkes-Barre, where he earned an associate’s degree. He later graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University. During his studies, he worked for General Electric in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

In 1959, Ed married Gloria Lokuta, the love of his life. The couple went on to have three children: William, Lorraine, and Anne. In 1968, they relocated to Burnt Hills, where Ed continued his career at G.E. in the large steam turbines department at the Schenectady complex.

Career and Personal Life

Throughout his professional journey, Ed was recognized for his dedication, precision, and drive—qualities he also embodied in his personal life. A true lover of the outdoors, he instilled in his children and grandchildren a deep respect for nature. His retirement was filled with activities such as fly fishing, boating, hiking, berry picking, and swimming in Lake George.

Ed was a proud member of Trout Unlimited, an organization committed to preserving rivers and their ecosystems. He found joy in fly fishing with friends, often on the Battenkill River in Vermont or the Yellowstone River in Montana. His love for nature mirrored his faith, as he devoted time to the Knights of Columbus and the Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville, New York.

In his later years, he rekindled his passion for chess, playing regularly with friends at his residence in Rose Tree Place, Media.

Ed is survived by his wife, Gloria; his sister, Mary Ann Novitsky; children William Andrejko, Lorraine Isaac, and Anne Andrejko; and grandchildren Rachel Isaac, Harrison Isaac, Lucy Shea, and Margot Shea.

A viewing will be held on November 6, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM at Nativity BVM Church, located at 30 E. Franklin St., Media, Pennsylvania. A Mass will follow at 11:00 AM, with interment being private.
