Dunn County, North Dakota, will participate in “Operation Greenlight for Veterans” by illuminating public spaces in green from November 4 to November 11. This initiative, organized by the National Association of Counties, aims to honor veterans as Veterans Day approaches.
During the Dunn County Commission meeting on November 5, Commission Chair Tracy Dolezal officially announced the county’s involvement via a proclamation. Dolezal expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by military personnel, stating, “As Veterans Day approaches, we are filled with gratitude for the brave men and women who have served our nation with courage and sacrifice. Our veterans, past and present, have given so much to protect the freedoms we cherish, and it is our privilege to honor them.”
Community members interested in participating in the initiative can request a free green light bulb by texting 701-290-9456. Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The green light symbolizes a beacon of hope and a reminder of the commitment to support veterans.
Further details regarding Operation Greenlight can be found on the Dunn County website and its social media channels. This event highlights the ongoing effort to raise awareness about the challenges faced by veterans and to foster community engagement in honoring their service.
