George Milton Rex, Jr., aged 80, of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 19, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. A beloved husband, father, and community member, he was married to Carol A. (Behm) Rex for 60 years, celebrating their anniversary on June 19 this year.
Born on July 10, 1945, in Germansville, George was the son of the late George Milton Rex, Sr. and Joyce E. (Mann) Rex. He dedicated a significant part of his life to his career, serving as a foreman at the Bethlehem Steel Coke Works from 1965 to 1998. His commitment to hard work and leadership left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry.
George was an active member of Ebenezer Church in New Tripoli, where he contributed to community events and fostered connections. Known for his love of fishing, hunting, and sports, he was also renowned for being a warm and generous host, making holidays and family gatherings memorable for everyone involved.
His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Bryan K. Rex (Tina) of Allentown, along with their children Nathaniel and Zachary; Pamela L. (Rex) Wolf (Randy) of Fleetwood, and their children Madison, Autumn, Savannah, and Victoria; and Jennifer A. (Rex) Roberts (Jason) of Schnecksville, with their children Jacob and Joshua. Additionally, he is mourned by his sisters, Nancy Rauch of New Tripoli and Melinda Uhl of Allentown, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Carol Snyder, her husband Walter Snyder, Sr., and brothers-in-law David Rauch, Sr. and Bruce Uhl.
Funeral services for George Rex will be held at 2:00 PM on November 22, 2025, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., located at 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Pastor Kevin W. Dellicker will officiate the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
