Talbert Calvin Dunn, Jr., a beloved member of the Hampton community, passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 71. His death marks the end of a life dedicated to family, community, and a successful career in shipbuilding. Born in Morehead City, North Carolina, Dunn had been a resident of Hampton, Virginia, since 1980.

Dunn retired in 2007 after a distinguished 27-year career as a welder at Newport News Shipbuilding. His work contributed significantly to the shipbuilding industry, where he was known for his skill and commitment. Dunn’s legacy extends beyond his profession; he was a devoted husband and father, leaving behind his wife of 48 years, Letty Lou Dunn, and two sons, Talbert C. Dunn III and Jason S. Dunn Sr.

The family’s grief is shared by many, as Dunn was known for his kindness and support within the community. He is survived by his two sons, Talbert C. Dunn III, who is married to Laura, and Jason S. Dunn Sr., who is married to Courtney. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Ruth, Brandon, Daphne, Jason Jr., and Jessica.

The Dunn family will welcome friends and community members for a visitation on November 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, located at 2609 Cunningham Drive in Hampton.
