Evelyn Marie (Dammer) Halvorson, aged 81, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Duluth, Minnesota. Known for her generous spirit and warmth, she leaves behind a legacy as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend. Her passing is felt deeply by family, friends, and the broader community.
Born to Melvin and Viola Dammer, Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved parents and an infant sister. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, David Halvorson Jr., and their children: son Ernest “Ernie” Halvorson of St. Cloud, and daughters Kimberly Neigum of Bismarck, North Dakota; Brenda Gamache of New Richmond, Wisconsin; and Bonnie Lou Goebel of Duluth. Evelyn also leaves behind grandchildren Emma and Aaron Neigum, alongside her siblings Edward, Merlyn, Harvey, Charlie, Wesley, and Susie.

The community has the opportunity to pay their respects during a visitation scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 1st, at Sunrise Funeral Home, located at 4798 Miller Trunk Highway in Duluth. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM, followed by a reception for those wishing to share memories and stories about Evelyn.
