
The community of Schenectady is grieving the loss of Lynn Mary Ragozzino, who passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, at the age of 65. Ragozzino fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones during her final moments.
Born on August 27, 1960, to the late Michael and Carmela Ruggiero Ragozzino, Lynn was a lifelong resident of Schenectady. She graduated from Linton High School and dedicated her working life to being a painter and caregiver, retiring in 2020. A devoted member of St. Anthony’s Church, Lynn’s contributions to the community extended beyond her profession.
Lynn is preceded in death by her partner, Susan Secor. She is survived by her brother, Michael (Julie) Ragozzino, niece Rachael Ragozzino, and nephew Andrew (Alexa) Ragozzino, along with her great-nephews, Rhett and AJ Ragozzino. Lynn leaves behind her loyal companion, a dog named Gianna, who remained by her side throughout her illness.
In a heartfelt message, her family expressed gratitude to the staff at NYOH and hospice, as well as friends and family, for their unwavering support during this challenging time. Lynn has been privately cremated, reflecting her wishes.
Memorial Arrangements and Community Support
Memorial calling hours are scheduled for September 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, located at 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. Following the calling hours, a memorial service will commence at noon. Lynn’s interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.
